Statement of Faith

WCC Statement of Faith

1) We believe in the triune God who exists as God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
a. God – the creator (Genesis 1:1)
b. Jesus – co-creator (John 1:3)
c. The Spirit active in creation – (Hebrews 1:2-3)
 
2) Jesus Christ is true God and true man. (Philippians 2:5-8)

3) Holy Spirit is a person in the Godhead and God’s agent in the world.
a. He speaks (Acts 13:2)
b. He can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30)
 
4) The Old and New Testament Scriptures are the divinely inspired Word of God. II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:20, 21

5) All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation. Romans 3:23; 3:11-18
 
6) Salvation has been provided for all men through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:3-4; 12-20

7) It is the will of God that every believer be filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:7,8; Acts 8:14-17
 
8) Healing is provided in the redemptive work of Christ and is available to every believer. Isaiah 53:5; I Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:16, 17

9) The Church consists of all those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Acts 2:41; Acts 4:4
 
10) There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust. Revelation 20:4-14

11) The return of Jesus Christ will be personal, visible and will be soon. Acts 1:9-11; Acts 3;20, 21
 
12) We believe in the practice of water baptism and the observance of the Lord’s Supper.
a. Baptism – Mark 16:15, 16; Acts 2:38, 39
b. The Lord’s Supper – Luke 22:19; I Corinthians 11:23-26
