BABY DEDICATIONS

Baby Dedication is a foundational step for parents to take in establishing a spiritual legacy that will position their child for success in adulthood. Baby dedication has its roots in the Bible with the Old Testament story of Hannah, who prayed for God's blessing and favor in granting her a baby boy. God heard Hannah's prayer and gave her a son, whom she named Samuel. After Samuel was born, Hannah brought him to the temple and dedicated him to the Lord.

For this boy I prayed and the Lord has given me my petition, which I asked of him. So I have also dedicated him to the Lord; as long as he lives he is dedicated (1 Samuel 1:27-28). NASB

When parents dedicate children, they are relinquishing their sole claim on their child's life, and they are acknowledging that children are a gift and miracle from God. We agree with the Biblical truth that children are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14). Furthermore, Baby Dedication demonstrates our desire to honor God and our on-going desire to encourage our children to know and love God personally.
